FIBer Albert Suàrez awarded in the HackEPS 2020

The FIB graduate receives the "Josep Maria Ribó" Award for Good Programming Practices.

The 4th edition of the HackEPS has been held online on 28 and 29 November. This hackathon is organised by Lleidahack, an association of EPS students, and the Polytechnic School (EPS) of the University of Lleida (UdL), and participants have to develop a software proposed by the sponsoring companies within 24 hours.

Albert Suàrez, a computer engineer from the FIB where he was part of the HackUPC association and participated in 27 hackathons, has won the EPS “Josep Maria Ribó” Award for Good Programming Practices with his 3D Net project. The award consists of a voucher for 1,000 euros to buy computer equipment at the SEMIC company. Suàrez is currently working as Principal Software Engineer at a Barcelona-based startup, restb.ai.

HackEPS 2020 has broken this year the record of projects with 130 registered participants who have submitted 27 proposals. The sponsoring companies have been Invelon Technologies, BonÀrea, Origen Studio, Marqués i Eurecat.
