Lídia Montero Mercadé, transport and smart mobility researcher at inLab FIB and associate professor of the UPC, has been awarded with the prize "Mujer y Gestión del Tráfico", that the Asociación de Ingenieros de Tráfico y Técnicos de Movilidad presents to recognise her intensive work for traffic and mobility.

For the second year in a row, the Asociación de Ingenieros de Tráfico y Técnicos de Movilidad has wanted to recognize the commendable role that pioneering women have led during all these years that until last year had little recognition.
Lidia Montero obtained her PhD in Computer Science by the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) in 1993, and she is associate professor of the Department of Statistics and Operations Research at UPC since 1998. She's specialist in the application of statistics to transportation planning, demand modelling, traffic management, traffic simulation and other related transportation problems.
Two years ago she joined inLab’s team, taking part in transport and smart mobility projects. The most outstanding projects in which she participates or has participated are: BIG YATE, CARNET i In4Mo amongst others.
