GRBIO - Biostatistics and Bioinformatics Research Group

The Biostatistics and Bioinformatics Research Group is an interdisciplinary group in which members of the Department of Statistics and Operative, members of the University of Barcelona and people from other institutions and entities of Life and Health Science participate.

The research activities can be grouped in three big areas:

  • Clinical trials: methodical contributions in the design phases and statistic modelling
  • Integrative Analysis of Omics Data: multivariate statistics methods and  “machine learning”
  • Development of Statistical and Informatics methods for a use of data of biomedical research results.

Other topics of their research are the analysis and representation of multivariate data, the survival data analysis with an interval censure, optimization of drugs design with a simulation and the problem-solving applied to fields such as VIH/SIDA, oncology, neuroscience, cardiology or immunology.
