The Hackathon #bitsxlaMarató is an event organised by the Barcelona School of Informatics (FIB), the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC), the teaching campus of Sant Joan de Déu Hospital, and the student’s association hackers@upc.

The aim of this Hackaton is to do our bit to fight rare diseases in a creative and technological way. Students, professors and researchers from the health and technology fields will work in teams for three days in a row. All together, they will look for a solution to a challenge related to rare diseases in order to improve the quality of life of people living with this condition. The Hackaton will also include informative talks and testimonies of the experience of people affected by a rare disease, who will suggest their own challenges too.
