David Riaño Ramos Award 2025 for the Best MAI Master’s Thesis

The award was created in memory of Dr. David Riaño Ramos, who was a professor and coordinator of the MAI at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili. He was an excellent and highly dedicated professor and researcher, internationally recognized for his work in Artificial Intelligence in Medicine.

The award includes a cash prize of 1,000 euros for the winning student.

Students who have completed the MAI master’s program and have defended their Master’s Thesis between September 1, 2024 and August 31, 2025, with a grade higher than 9, are eligible to apply for this award.

Selection process

1. Participation in the David Riaño Ramos Award is automatic for all MAI Master’s Theses that meet the established requirements.
2. Candidates may withdraw from participation by sending an email to before September 15, 2025.
3. The decision will be announced before September 30, 2025.

The award will be presented during the opening ceremony of the academic year at the School of Engineering of the Universitat Rovira i Virgili in Tarragona, in November 2025. The exact date of the event will be announced in September 2025.
