All climate data enthusiasts: data scientists, students, researchers, and representatives from both the private and public sectors that work with open climate data are invited to join the datathon event.
This event is jointly organized by the Research Data Alliance - Europe Spanish Node and the Barcelona Supercomputing Centre (BSC).
The event will take place on 21st April 2020, from 9 am to 6 pm. Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya- Campus Nord (Barcelona), buildingC6 (E-106)
There is no registration fee.

Agenda, 21st April
9:00 - 10:00
- Introducing the datathon context and exercises:
- Air quality forecasting with ML
- Short-term weather forecasting (WeatherBench dataset)
- Copernicus C3S downstream applications
- Outlier detection in C3S data
10:00 - 10:15
- Match-making (groups)
- Groups of 2-4 participants will be made in order to tackle the challenges. Bring your own laptop!
10:15 - 13:00
- Hands-on exercises
- Select one or two challenges to tackle. Work in teams with the support of the BSC mentors.
13:00 - 14:00
- Lunch break
14:00 - 17:00
- Hands-on exercises
- Continue the challenges and prepare a short presentation to share the outcome.
17:00 - 18:00
- Pitch session
- Each group will be granted a 5min time slot to present their outcome from the challenges
