Cineforum: "Big challenges for gender equality", at Palau Macaya

From the 20th of September until the 8 th of November at 6 p.m., Palau Macaya offers a five-movie season about the challenges to achieve gender equality. Its aim is to reflect on different topics related to the fight for this cause.

The season started with a Chantal Akerman’s documentary where dance and cinema shape the voice of female artists. The four movies left include films about women in the Kurdish militias (YPJ), the reunion of a mother and her daughter and their different points of view, the story of the film actress and inventor Hedy Lamarr, and the fear of the unknown seen through what the witch-hunt meant.

The professor and researcher of the department of Computer Science at FIB, Núria Castell, will take part in the screening of Alexandra Dean’s “Bombshell: the story of Hedy Lamarr”, on the 25th of October.

The entrance at Cineforum is free, you just have to sign up to book your seat at www.palaumacaya.com.
