Xavier Serret Avila is a highly-multidisciplinary visionary entrepreneur alumni of the FIB - UPC (1997).
Xavier is one of the only 10 people directly mentioned in BitCoin’s Satoshi Nakamoto white paper for the work he did in scalable time stamping (block-chain) during his tenure at the UCL/Belgium in 1998/99.
After leaving Spain in 1997 and over his 20 year professional career, he has always been centered in highly-innovative projects working for companies of all sizes in USA (Silicon Valley / Bay Area), France, Belgium, The Netherderlands and Switzerland.
His experience includes: scada systems design, cryptographic protocols, distributed trust management, content protection, ultra-low power IOT for healthcare, identity management standardization, mobile payments standardization, financial risk management for portfolio benchmarking and optimization and, last but least, mechanical and industrial design. He also holds and MBA by the Solvay Brussels School Economics & Management. Finally, he is an inventor in 7 different patents (and counting!).
During the last 10 years Xavier has been working with fintech startup FinMetrics, while also launched 2 others: Insucom and WhiteCrow Tech. The last one dedicated to launch the first-ever fully-integrated Tire-pressure management solution for Mountain Bikes, a fully mechanical device that gathered raving international reviews. He is now in the process of launching his 3rd startup after his recent move back to Barcelona.
