Rodríguez has been selected to participate in the international Science in Action competition.

Within the framework of the 22nd UPC Architecture, Engineering, Sciences and Technology Award, the student Gerard Rodríguez, from Educem II of Granollers, has been chosen to participate in the international competition Ciencia en Acción (Science in Action, in English), which will take place from 1 to 3 October in Atarfe (Granada). His work "MARES ODYSSEY: simulation of a space trip on Mars", tutored by Professor Inés Solà, aims to study the stages of a space trip from Earth to Mars in order to send a rover that contributes to Martian discoveries.

Planning a temporary settlement for refugees, “Solidarity Technology: Baaloul 007 extension. Study and planning of a temporary settlement for refugees”, by Marta Vidal, a student at the Pere Ribot Secondary School in Vilassar de Mar, has won the 22nd UPC Architecture, Engineering, Sciences and Technology Award in the category of upper secondary school education research projects. Regarding the projects of higher training cycles (CFGS), the award has gone to the study “Mercado Tierra” on how rural areas can be repopulated using local ecological products, carried out by Carolina Márquez from the Massana School of Barcelona. The UPC has also awarded the work “The waste. Is Zero Waste Possible? ”, by Meritxell Edo, as a finalist upper secondary school education project.

The UPC award aims to enhance the interest of upper secondary school education and higher training cycle students in the areas of the STEAM field, in addition to rewarding the incorporation of the sustainability dimension carried out in this area in secondary school classrooms.
