Wednesday 21 January 2026

On 28, 29 and 30 January, more than 100 students from 3rd and 4th year of secondary education and 1st and 2nd year of upper secondary education from across Catalonia that will be held at the UPC’s Campus Nord. The Hackaton is organized by the association Bcntechprojects, MIT Edgerton Center and the Facultat d'Informàtica de Barcelona.
This initiative began eight years ago and has since grown steadily, with the incorporation of ETSEIB and ESEIAAT as organizing centers and the participation of an increasing number of schools from across the region. Over the course of three days, students face the challenge of developing an engineering project from scratch and proposing an innovative technological solution.
Participants are supported by mentors — engineering students who accompany them throughout the process and help make STEM disciplines more approachable and accessible.
The Hackató BCNTechProjects is an excellent and highly inspiring educational activity, and it receives very positive feedback from all participants.
