Mayra Pastor Valdivia, a student at UPC-FIB, is one of 15 women selected for Diversi & King's GDC Scholarship 2019 to go to the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, CA.

Already in its fourth year running, this initiative aims at encouraging more women into tech and gaming, and aspires to provide more women with the opportunity to grow their network, exchange ideas and ease the transition from student life to work life. Open to all female-identifying (cis, trans and non-binary) students, pursuing an Undergraduate or Master’s degree and considering a future in the games industry.
The Game Developers Conference (GDC) is the world's largest professional game industry event and this year it runs from 18th - 22nd of March. GDC brings together programmers, artists, producers, game designers and others involved in the development of interactive games and immersive experiences to exchange ideas and shape the future of the industry with five days of education, inspiration, and networking.
The scholarship includes:
All Access GDC Pass — access to over 750 lectures, workshops and panels
A GDC Vault subscription (granting access to recorded talks from GDC2003 onwards)
Access to all GDC mixers, and both the Independent Games Festival and Game Developers Choice Awards.
