Fully funded scholarships from the China Scholarship Council for scientific exchange stays in Chinese universities lasting from 1 to 12 monthsTuesday 10 March 2026

China Scholarship Council (CSC) has launched the China Link Short-term Scientific Exchange Scholarship, a programme offering fully funded scholarships for scientific exchange stays in China. The call is open to UPC bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral students, as well as academic and research staff (PDI).
China continues to consolidate its position as one of the world’s leading hubs for research and innovation, and this programme offers an opportunity for the UPC community to strengthen their international trajectory through collaboration with prestigious Chinese universities.
The scholarship is aimed at two main profiles: General Scholars, current bachelor’s or master’s students (up to 45 years old), and Senior Scholars, doctoral candidates or academic and research staff (up to 50 years old).
This is a fully funded scholarship covering the main costs of the stay, including tuition fee exemption, free on-campus accommodation, comprehensive medical insurance and a monthly stipend for living expenses.
Stays can last from one month up to one academic year and are open to all academic disciplines. The working language may be English or Chinese, depending on the host institution.
The application process requires first obtaining an admission or invitation letter from a participating Chinese university. Once obtained, candidates must submit their application through the Chinese Government Scholarship Information System. Host universities must send the nomination to the CSC at least two months before the expected arrival of the participant.
The application portal is open throughout the year, although the stay must begin before 31 August 2027.
