On Thursday, 22 February, the 23rd Night of Telecommunications and Informatics took place. The ceremony was presided over by the Honourable President of the Parliament, Roger Torrent, accompanied, among other authorities, by the President of the Barcelona Provincial Council, Mercè Conesa, and the Government Secretaries for Telecommunications and Universities, Jordi Puigneró and Arcadi Navarro.
The jury, composed of renowned professionals and authorities, awarded Pilar Conesa the highest distinction, the Honorary Award. She thus became the first woman to receive the organization’s highest distinction as a pioneer in promoting so-called “smart cities”.
Pilar Conesa is the founder and CEO of Anteverti, a company that advises executive teams and organizations to adapt to new environments by innovating and making use of new technologies.
She holds a degree in Computer Science from FIB and is considered a pioneer in the development of smart cities, leading successful projects in Barcelona, Mexico, Santiago de Chile, Argentina and Morocco, among others. In fact, her contribution as curator of the Smart City Expo World Congress has been key in explaining the relevance of this internationally renowned event.
She was the first president of FIB Alumni. She is currently an external advisor on strategy and smart cities for inLab FIB at UPC and is also a member of the UPC Alumni Council.
