ALBA Hackathon - 16 and 17 of October 2025

The ALBA Hackathon is a two-day event, taking place on October 16 and 17, where multidisciplinary teams develop innovative solutions to real challenges posed by companies, using advanced technology and critical thinking. The best projects will be evaluated by a jury and compete for prizes.

The Ajuntament de Cerdanyola del Vallès, el Parc de Recerca UAB and the ALBA Synchrotron, with the support of the Diputació de Barcelona, join forces to organize a scientific and technological hackathon aimed at promoting innovation in strategic sectors such as water, plastics, and energy. In this first edition, four real challenges will be proposed by the participating companies: ACCIONA, Applus+, Dentaid, and Ercros.

Registration

Registration is individual and completed via an online form. Selected participants will receive confirmation by email. Participation is open to anyone interested, including undergraduate, master’s, and PhD students, as well as researchers from across Spain.

Registrations will remain open until 19th of September, 2025.

Prizes

Each winning team will receive €1,000 and have the opportunity to bring their proposal to life by conducting their experiment at the ALBA Synchrotron.
