Call for Entries: UPC Miquel Barceló Science Fiction Award 2026

The Social Council of the UPC has announced a new edition of the UPC Miquel Barceló Science Fiction Award.

Unpublished stories that can be classified within the science fiction genre are eligible for the award. Submissions may be written in Catalan, Spanish, English, or French.

A prize of 2.000€ will be awarded, along with, if applicable, a special honorary mention. Optionally, a special honorary mention may also be granted to the best story submitted by a member of the UPC community. In addition, the winning work will be edited and published in both digital and print formats, in a joint edition by the UPC and the publisher Apache Libros, as part of the collection Biblioteca de Ciencia Ficción en Español. 

The deadline for submitting entries is March 27, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. The jury’s decision will be announced before the end of 2026.
