AI, cybersecurity, and computational thinking workshops to celebrate 11F at FIBMonday 16 February 2026

Last 11th of February, on the occasion of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, the Facultat Informática de Barcelona (FIB) welcomed 6th-grade students from Jesuïtes El Clot school for a special event aimed at bringing technology and innovation closer to young students.
During the visit, students took part in several hands-on workshops on artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and computational thinking, designed to spark curiosity and show how technology is part of our everyday lives. Through dynamic and participatory activities, they experienced firsthand some of the challenges proposed to them.
This initiative aims to encourage scientific and technological vocations among girls and young women, as well as to help reduce the gender gap that still exists in the fields of engineering and computer science. The experience was highly enriching both for the students and for the teachers and staff involved in the organization, and it will be repeated next 11th of March, with the goal of continuing to inspire new generations of female talent in STEM fields.
