The 31st edition of the Nit de les Telecomunicacions i la Informàtica, held in Barcelona, brought together more than a thousand professionals in the leading ICT sector event in Catalonia.
In this edition, several members of the UPC community linked to FIB were recognized in different award categories, highlighting the talent, innovation, and impact of their work.
Among the awardees:
Lourdes Muñoz Santamaría – Alan Turing Award for Social Commitment (ex aequo)
Computer Engineering graduate from UPC and director of Barcelona Open Data, recognized for her work in social innovation based on open data and the promotion of equality through digital tools.Joan De la Paz Sánchez – Joan Clarke Award for Outstanding CIO
Computer Engineering graduate from UPC and Head of Innovation Systems at El Prat de Llobregat City Council, with extensive experience in public-sector technology management.Antonio González Colás – Salvà i Campillo Award for Outstanding Personality
FIB professor and full professor at the Department of Computer Architecture, an international reference in the field with a highly impactful scientific and technological career.Rosa Maria Badia Sala – La Nit Honor Award
PhD in Computer Engineering and researcher at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center, recognized for her outstanding career in supercomputing and distributed systems.
These recognitions highlight the contribution of the FIB-UPC community to the development of information and communication technologies, as well as their impact on academia, society, and industry.
