Abstract

At a time when more than 1,000 technology experts, researchers and investors have signed an open letter calling for a six-month halt to the development of "giant AI systems", citing "profound risks to society", reflection on how we use and apply this technology is more necessary than ever. Ethics has become an essential branch of AI in recent years, but some contexts are at odds. Will privacy and transparency co-exist in the same ecosystem? Will algorithms be able to be certified as free of bias? Will accountability be guaranteed in all situations? Does every law have its loophole? Are all these questions transcendent to moving forward in the loop with a human perspective?
