The European Master for High Performance Computing (EUMaster4HPC) will develop its programme with an additional focus on artificial intelligence and quantum computingThe European Master for High Performance Computing (EUMaster4HPC) is entering a new phase this September, expanding the programme with a stronger focus on artificial intelligence and quantum computing. UPC continues to be part of this European initiative, coordinated by the University of Luxembourg, with the participation of Juan José Costa, Daniel Jiménez-González, Ramon Canal, Xavier Martorell and Beatriz Otero.
Following a pilot phase involving more than 100 students, the programme aims to train 400 students over the next six years. The consortium brings together 43 partners from 23 countries and has an overall budget of €10 million, funded by the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking.
This new phase responds to the growing demand for professionals specialising in high-performance computing (HPC) and emerging technologies, preparing students to address new challenges related to exascale computing, artificial intelligence and quantum computing.
The master's programme maintains its international and interdisciplinary approach, offering mobility between European universities and a double degree. Students also work on real-world challenges in scientific and industrial fields such as climate modelling, bioinformatics, aerospace engineering, materials science and financial simulation.
