Teaching environments with AI and GPUs

FIB features the Boada high-performance computing (HPC) cluster as its main teaching environment equipped for AI and GPU computing.

  • HPC Cluster "Boada" configuration (managed via SLURM queues):
    • CPU compute nodes 
    • Specialized node with 8 GPUs featuring the following specifications:
      • 2 Intel(R) Xeon(R) Silver 4314
        • 16 cores
        • 32 threads
      • 128 GB RAM
      • GIGABYTE MG62-G41-00 motherboard
      • 4 NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 GPU accelerators (10 GB VRAM)
      • 1 NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 GPU accelerators (24 GB VRAM)
      • 3 NVIDIA RTX PRO 4000 Blackwell GPU accelerators (24 GB VRAM)

 

It will soon be expanded with an additional GPU node.

How to use

Priority is given to laboratory sessions and practical classes for FIB courses.
Students working on Bachelor's or Master's theses have access during low-occupancy periods.
