La professora Maria Ribera Sancho Samsó, a member of the academic staff at the Barcelona School of Informatics (FIB), member to Departament d’Enginyeria de Serveis i Sistemes d’Informació and researcher at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC), has been appointed as an independent member of the Centre de Telecomunicacions i Tecnologies de la Informació (CTTI).
This appointment is part of an initiative promoted by the Government of Catalonia to incorporate independent members into the governing bodies of public sector entities, with the aim of strengthening governance, increasing diversity, and improving decision-making.
A total of 102 independent members have already been incorporated into 78 entities, reaching 78.5% of the organizations included in this measure, which is part of the public administration reform and improvement of public services launched in 2024.
The inclusion of independent profiles aims to enrich governance bodies with diverse experience and specialized knowledge, particularly in key areas such as technology and digital transformation.
