The Instituto de las Mujeres has announced the upcoming call for grants to support feminist research projects in 2026, with a total budget of €770,000.
The official publication in the Spanish Official Gazette (BOE) is expected in April, when the application period will open. Selected projects may receive up to €25,000 each.
This call is particularly relevant for UPC research groups working in areas such as technology, sustainability, and social sciences from a gender perspective.
As a new feature this year, the call defines in greater detail the priority areas linked to the III Strategic Plan for Effective Equality. Key topics include:
• Women, technology, and equality in the digital environment (gender bias in AI, digital misogyny)
• Climate change and equality (ecofeminism and green economy)
• Sexual harassment in the workplace
• Women’s health
• Care organization
• Cultural participation
The call also introduces strict reporting requirements: a compliance level above 60% will be necessary to avoid full repayment of the grant, and failure to meet dissemination obligations will be specifically penalized.
Given the competitive nature of these grants, applicants are encouraged to carefully review the full call details once published in the BOE or on the Instituto de las Mujeres website.
