On 15 July, the Vèrtex Auditorium at UPC's North Campus hosted the graduation ceremony for the 6th class of the Bachelor's Degree in Data Science and Engineering (GCED), a degree jointly offered by the Barcelona School of Informatics (FIB), the Faculty of Mathematics and Statistics (FME) and the Barcelona School of Telecommunications Engineering (ETSETB).
The ceremony brought together graduates, families, faculty members and institutional representatives from the three schools to celebrate the completion of the students' academic journey.
The event began with welcoming remarks from the management teams of the three schools and continued with the keynote lecture "Graduating Game Vision", delivered by Sergi Oliva, a UPC Computer Science graduate, PhD in Complexity Theory and current Head Coach of the Rip City Remix, the NBA G League affiliate of the Portland Trail Blazers.
The ceremony also featured an address by the class sponsor, Marta Arias Vicente, professor in the UPC Department of Computer Science, as well as speeches by representatives of the graduating class.
One of the highlights of the ceremony was the presentation of diplomas to the graduates of the 6th class of the Bachelor's Degree in Data Science and Engineering, recognising their dedication and achievements throughout their university studies.
The event concluded with a reception in the North Campus gardens, providing an opportunity for graduates, families, friends, faculty and members of the university community to celebrate this special milestone together.
