Open Talent: “Computer Vision and Artificial Intelligence for Good”

In this talk, we will review how computer vision and AI in general are used "for good": from detecting objectionable content to fighting terrorism or tackling misinformation. AI has recently found applications that aim at making our world a safer place. Bridging the gap between the state-of-the-art and the solutions needed to address "for good" problems is a growing field of research that is yielding to relevant technological and social impact. We will be covering some of the technical aspects as well as practical and real cases.

This conference will be held in English.

The speaker

Cristian Canton is a research manager at Facebook where he currently leads the computer vision team within the objectionable and harmful content domain (i.e. detect and remove offensive visual content) and media forensics.
