Academic Coordination Committee of the Bachelor's Degree in Bioinformatics

Coordination of the educational offer and quality assurance of the interuniversity bachelor's degree is guaranteed through:

  • The general coordinator of the bachelor's degree, who will be the internal person responsible for the bachelor's degree appointed by the coordinating university.
  • An internal person responsible for the bachelor's degree at each of the universities, who is appointed in the manner established by each university.
  • The Academic Coordination Committee of the Bachelor's Degree in Bioinformatics, composed of at least two representatives of each university, including the general coordinator, the internal coordinators at each university and a representative of the association Bioinformatics Barcelona (BBI). This body is responsible for the programme development.

The Academic Coordination Committee of the Bachelor's Degree in Bioinformatics:

  • Is responsible for the programme general functioning.
  • Develops a protocol and a plan to disseminate and publicise the bachelor's degree.
  • Informs on the conditions of the collaboration agreement and ensures the mechanisms for follow-up, monitoring and control of the implementation and commitments made by the signatories of the agreement work properly. This must solve any problems that arise from the interpretation and fulfilment of the agreement. In the event of the agreement termination, the Committee proposes its continuation or the manner and deadline for completing the activities already under way.
  • Sets the annual offer of subjects on the bachelor's degree on the basis of the proposals of the internal persons responsible for the bachelor's degree at each university.
  • Is responsible for assigning placements, stimulating and coordinating mobility and analysing the results that guarantee the quality of the bachelor's degree.
  • Draws up the plan for the use of shared infrastructure and services (classrooms, teaching facilities, etc.) that boosts student performance.
  • By analysing the strengths and weaknesses of the bachelor's degree, it makes proposals for improvement and sets measures for monitoring its implementation.
  • Establishes the frequency of meetings and the decision-making system to reach the corresponding agreements and sets up the specific committees or subcommittees that it deems appropriate.
  • Decides on aspects of teaching that are not regulated by legal provisions or universities regulations.
  • Promotes all joint activities that enhance the interuniversity nature of the bachelor's degree.
