There are multiple ways to fund your studies at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya · BarcelonaTech (UPC). The University and other organisations offer grants, scholarships, mobility grants and loans.

Below you will find information on specific scholarships and grants that you can apply for at the FIB. To qualify for any of these, you must have applied for admission to the relevant Master's programme.

Grants Master

In memoriam of Prof. Nacho Navarro, the Department of Computer Architecture will award 2 grants for FIB graduates that enroll in the MIRI master in the Computer Networks and Distributed Systems or High Performance Computing specialities.

Requisits

Have graduated from FIB (Facultat d'Informàtica de Barcelona, UPC)  who will pursue the Master's Degree MIRI (FIB-UPC) in the two following AC fields:

  • Computer Networks and Distributed Systems
  • High Performance Computing

2 grants for the cost of 50% of the registration fees for the first year of the Master (including first and second term).

Those interested in the scholarships must fill in the online application form.

Requisits

The main requirements are:

  • be enrolled full time in one of the FIB's Master's programmes (MEI, MIRI, MAI or MDS), or 
  • be enrolled full itme in one of the FIB's Bachelor's programmes (GEI, GCED or GIA).

Total cost of enrolment for the academic year 2024-2025, including tuition fees, up to a maximum of 6,000 euros per student per academic year. This enrolment may only include subjects taken for the first time.

NTT DATA awards scholarships for the enrolment fees of students on the master's degree at the FIB.

Applications

Those interested in the scholarships must fill in the online application form.

Requisits

  1. Applicants must be graduates of the bachelor’s degree in Informatics Engineering or bachelor's degree in Data Science and Engineering, or be students in a FIB's Master at the moment of application.
  2. They must enrol in 30 credits on a FIB master’s degree for the 2024-2025 academic year, or be pre-enrolled in a FIB's Master in the 2023-2024.


Preference will be given to the students of the specializations Advanced Computing, Computer Networks and Distributed Systems, or Master in Data Science, or Master in Artificial Intelligence.

The financial contribution of each grant is the cost of the tuition (excluding fees and others) by academic year.

Applications

Those interested in the scholarships must fill in the online application form.

Requisits

  • Be a full-time student in a FIB’s Master for the academic year 2024-2025.
  • The minimum number of credits to be enrolled must be 30 ECTS per semester, unless they are the last credits of the programme.

The amount of the grant is the cost of 2100 €.

50% of the scholarship will be paid upon enrolment for the first semester. The remaining 50% will be paid upon enrolment for the second semester, subject to the academic performance obtained in the first semester.
Should the scholarship holder fail to comply with the rules, he/she will be obliged to repay the amount of the scholarship up to that point.
