In celebration of International Women's Day, the Barcelona School of Informatics (FIB) and the Barcelona-ACM-W Chapter have organized a special event on Wednesday, 5th of March. The goal of this event is to highlight the essential role of women in the field of computer science and encourage reflection on the challenges still present in the fight for gender equality in this area.
The event will begin with a welcome by the Vice Dean of FIB, Gemma Sesé, followed by the keynote talk titled "Women in Computing: hidden & silenced", delivered by Núria Castell Ariño. This talk will serve as the starting point for an enriching discussion about the role of women in the tech sector.
Additionally, there will be a special focus on the presentation of ACM-W Europe, an initiative that promotes the participation and visibility of women in computing, and womENcourage@, an event aimed at creating networks and encouraging women’s involvement in the scientific and tech community.

The event will take place on Wednesday, 5th of March at 12:15 PM, at the Auditorium Manuel Martí Recober at the FIB.
