The call for applications for the Campus Rural Programme 2026 is now open. This initiative is promoted by the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, in collaboration with the Ministry of Universities and Spanish public universities.

The programme offers university students from any official degree the opportunity to carry out academic internships in municipalities with fewer than 5,000 inhabitants, located in rural areas facing demographic challenges across Spain.

Internships will take place in companies, local councils, associations, and other organisations based in these areas, with a duration of 3 to 4 months, between May and November 2026. The programme includes a monthly allowance of €1,000 (gross), fully funded by Campus Rural.

It is recommended to carry out the internships during the summer months, as students are required to reside in the municipality where the internship takes place.

Companies and organisations interested in hosting students can submit their offers until April 15 by sending the official form to sga.convenis@upc.edu with the subject “Campus Rural 2026 call”.

Students interested in participating can apply between April 1 and April 30, and some internship offers are already available for consultation.

This call represents an opportunity to bring university talent closer to rural areas and to promote professional development in a unique territorial context, with financial support and hands-on experience.
