Disruptions due to the connectivity cuts of the FIB network on March 25 and 26, 2024

 Dates: March 25 and 26, 2024

Connectivity outages:

  • Day 25: Total cut between 9:00 and 20:00.
  • Day 26: Intermittent outages throughout the day.

Services that won't work:

  • Racó: The Racó will not be accessible during maintenance.
  • The next FIB teaching servers will be unavailable: Aula Virtual, Virtech, Practicum, Mobility, Discos web, databases for practice...
  • WIFI, telephony, PCs, printers, etc. in the affected areas: won't work in spaces where maintenance is carried out (B6, C6 UTG, IT labs of the FIB at A5, B5, C6, teaching labs of the ESAII at C5 and teaching labs from AC at D6).

FIB web:

  • The FIB website will be operational, but will only display static pages. This means that you will not be able to access dynamic content such as timetables, teaching guides, etc.

Working services:

  • WIFI in the library and other areas of the Campus with EDUROAM coverage: The WIFI connection in the library and other areas of the Campus with EDUROAM coverage will not be affected by the maintenance.
  • VPN, IP Telephony (microSIP), SAP, Google Suite, UPCXXI ...: These central or cloud services will work normally.
  • Remote Working: You can work with corporate laptops from home or from another place with an internet connection.

Recommendations:

  • Plan your work in advance: Avoid tasks that require access to the FIB network during these days.
  • Store your documents on a local device: You won't be able to access your documents stored on FIB servers.
  • If you need internet connection from the Campus, look for an alternative space: The library or other spaces with EDUROAM coverage may be a good option.
