SpecializationsThe MIRI offers 6 areas of specialization:
RecipientsHolders of a Bachelor in Informatics or related fields. Also the candidates who hold a degree in Informatics or related fields, either in Engineering (Electrical, Industrial, Telecommunications, ...) or Science (Mathematics, Physics, ...) issued by a higher education institution that qualifies the holder to pursue master's-level training in the issuing country.

Aims

Informatics has become the major driving force in many scientific and technological fields. The Master in Information and Research in Informatics is designed to provide a solid background in different aspects of research in informatics, while preparing its graduates to become experts in any of the fields of specialization offered, like Advanced Computing, Computer Graphics and Virtual Reality, Computer Networks and Distributed Systems, Data Mining and Business Intelligence, High Performance Computing and Services Engineering.

The Master in Information and Research in Informatics graduates will have a high capacity to analyse and solve complex problems. Thus they will be qualified to work in any company willing to incorporate emerging technologies in the sector, especially those with R&D centres, public and private research centres or University departments, in which they would develop new research activities. Graduates of this Master Programme also acquire the skills and knowledge to enrol in PhD programmes in Informatics such as:

All those programmes are offered at the UPC.
