Premiere of the film "A orillas del rio Xingú - Voces no consideradas"

The Center of Cooperation for Development (CCD) presents the film "A orillas del rio Xingú - Voces no consideradas".
The film has been honored with the Audience Award for Best Documentary at the IV Festival of Paulínia 2011 in Brazil.

The presentation will be Wednesday, March 14 from 17:30 to 20:00 in the Aula Màster in Campus Nord.

The film relates the situation of the people of the banks of this Amazonian river, who see their livelihood threatened by the upcoming construction of the hydroelectric plant of Belo Monte (the 3rd largest in the world). Stories of "ribeirinhos", of indigenous, rural people, the people of the region of Altamira in Amazonia, as well as specialists in the field, are among all this complex puzzle.

After the projection of the documentary, a panel discussion with director Damià Puig and Mary Campuzano of "Enginyers Sense Fronteras", which will discuss: what is the 3rd hydroelectric plant in the middle of the Amazonia?, Why water is a right every day more precious?, How it affects the indigenous people?, Why Europe has interests in such projects?.
