Development of Mobile Apps at FIB

FIB is committed to the development of mobile applications from different areas. Subjects in their curriculum, mobile phones loan to students, application publishing platforms, access to IOS Developer University Program and an API to access data from Racó.
Subjects about mobile development
In recent years at the FIB the free elective course TPAAGP (taller de programació d’aplicacions Android per a Google Phones) and since the first semester of 2011 the degree subject IDI (Interaction and Interface Design) are opened to the students. The first subject is directly oriented to developing applications for Android and in the second subject, there is a wokshop about design of user interaction in mobile applications.

Racó Mobile and Racó API
The Racó app is available for Android and iPhone. These applications have been developed based on Racó API, currently in publishing process for everybody who want to use it. In the subject TPAAGP, case studies made use of this API.

Mobile loans
In order to develop mobile applications, it is important to try them in different real devices. The FIB has available HTC Android phones to let students and has also Windows Phones for specific projects.

iOS Developer University Program
The FIB has an agreement with Apple developer program for universities. This program allows students and teachers of the FIB, upon request, develop and test applications for IOS devices on their iPod, iPhone and iPad.

Student applications Repository: mobileApps
FIB has developed a mobile application repository where all students can publish their developed applications.
