On February 11th was celebrated the investiture ceremony of Mateo Valero Cortés, director of BSC Barcelona Supercomputing Center, like a doctor honoris causa from the University of Zaragoza.
Mateo Valero is considered the main architect of the European scientific contributions in the field of computer architecture, especially in the field of vector processors. Dr. Valero is an example of the necessary collaboration between science and society, and his ideas have enabled the development of processors and compilers for high performance in the most important companies in the sector.
