ABSTRACT
The Mesoamerica project is a regional initiative to provide a disaster early warning for some countries from Mexico until Equator in Latin American region, leaded by RedCLARA (www.redclara.net). The project demands high performance and scientific computing resources, involving infrastructure, platforms, applications and people to processing and share weather, environmental and seismology data.
This talk shows the proposed architecture and service model for the Mesoamerica project and the role of the different resource centres, highlighting scientific interest in informatics and computer science by the Colombian site, lead by the High Performance and Scientific Computing Unit of the Universidad Industrial de Santander.
