In Spring of 2013, I designed, developed and then offered a MOOC
(Massive, Open, Online, Course) on Computational Photography over the
Coursera Network. In this talk, I will describe how I went through the
whole process, including the issues specific to the class on
computational photography, where we had to provide extensive support for
computation and photography. I will discuss the lesson learned and how I
am now using the material that I developed to both improve my class room
teaching and future offerings. Students who are currently taking this
class at GA Tech will be able to chime in with their perspective of this
class.
In addition, I would also like to engage in a conversation about the
newly announced MS in Computer Science, using only ONLINE classes by
Georgia Tech, in Partnership with Udacity and AT&T for under $7000. I
would like to discuss both the oppurtunities and challenges that maybe
on the horizon with ONLINE classes (and degrees).
