Miguel Valero, Jaume Vicens Vives Award 2019 for Quality in University Teaching

The distinction, created in 1996, is awarded by the Generalitat de Catalunya and recognizes excellence in university teaching.

Miguel Valero García, professor in the Department of Computer Architecture at the Castelldefels School of Telecommunications and Aerospace Engineering, has been awarded the Jaume Vicens Vives distinction for quality in university teaching granted by the Generalitat de Catalunya. The award was presented on 6 September during the opening ceremony of the 2019–2020 academic year of Catalan universities, held at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra.

This award recognizes Miguel Valero “for his well-established career dedicated to university teaching, teacher training, and the promotion of teaching innovation through the validation of new active methodologies focused on student learning, which have made him a reference in the university field.”

Valero, who served as Head of Studies at FIB between 1993 and 1996, also received the 22nd UPC Prize for Quality in University Teaching for his recognized excellence as a lecturer.
