The Ibero-American Informatics and Computing Competition (CIIC) was held on June 8 in Argentina and included the participation of 116 students from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Cuba, Chile, El Salvador, Spain, Mexico, Portugal, the Dominican Republic and Venezuela. The bronze medal awarded to the FIB student was presented during the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI).
Izan Beltran, from Codelearn Gavà-Viladecans, won the gold medal at the Spanish Informatics Olympiad 2019, a title that allowed him to represent Spain at the 31st edition of the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) held in August in Baku (Azerbaijan).
The IOI is an annual international computer science competition in which secondary school students from different invited countries participate, accompanied by socio-cultural programmes. It is one of the five International Science Olympiads and one of the most prestigious computer science competitions in the world.
