The Social Council of the UPC has announced the winners of the 29th Awards for Quality in University Teaching, which this year place a special spotlight on the talent and pedagogical innovation at the Facultat d'Informàtica de Barcelona (FIB).
In the newly recruited teaching staff category, the award went to Marc Ruiz Ramírez, researcher at the Computer Architecture Department and professor at FIB (as well as ETSETB). The committee presented him with the award for his project ‘Innovation in the teaching of cybersecurity management in the university undergraduate environment’. The jury particularly praised his introduction of "live subjects" into the classroom and a learning model based on the simulation of professional roles, an approach that fosters critical thinking and directly prepares students for the professional world.
Furthermore, the committee awarded a special mention to the initiative ‘LEAN+ in teacher training’, promoted by Antonio Hernández Fernández, researcher at the Institute of Education Sciences (ICE) and also a professor at FIB.
These awards demonstrate FIB and its faculty's ongoing commitment to transforming learning models, connecting cutting-edge technological education with the real-world needs of the professional sector.
