Computer equipment
The main purpose of the inLab FIB is to support the teaching and administration of the Barcelona School of Informatics (FIB) by supplying the human resources and materials necessary to provide the best possible service to its users.
The computer equipment used for teaching is located in the basements of buildings A5, B5 and C6 and in FIB building B6 on the North Campus. There are 378 workplaces (PCs, Sun Rays and Suns) split between 21 computer labs and user rooms. These are connected over the FIB’s local network to the inLab FIB servers (with Unix or Windows operating system).
This equipment provides teaching support for the majority of the subjects taught in the School, the personal communication services for the students (email, web pages, and so on) and the services of the teaching intranet (Racó de l’Estudiant, Racó del Professor).
