Academic stays in the United States, Canada and double degree MIRI-IPN during academic year 2016/17

Do you want to make a semester-long stay during the academic year 2016/17 in a North-American university, a year-long stay in a Canadian university or get a double degree in a Mexican University?
Students interested in making a semester-long academic stay in the USA, or a year-long stay in Canada or who wish to get a double degree in Mexico will be able to do so in one of the following universities:

Georgia Institute of Technology (Atlanta, USA)
•    Master students
•    Academic stay to take courses.
•    Year-long stay in case of the carrying out of the Master Thesis.
•    Good academic performance record
•    English requirements: TOEFL 100  ibased

Northeastern University Boston (Boston, USA)
•    Bachelor and Master students
•    Academic stay to take courses
•    Good academic performance record
•    English requirements: TOEFL 92 ibased

Purdue University (Lafayette, USA)
•    Bachelor and Master students
•    Academic stay to take courses and/or do a Final Project
•    Semester-long stay or year-long stay
•    Good academic performance record
•    English requirements:
o    TOEFL score of 79 or higher with a speaking sub-score of 22 or higher
o    IELTS score of 6.5 or higher with a speaking sub-score of 6 or higher

University of Colorado (Colorado Springs, USA) (Balsells Fellowship)
•    Bachelor and Master students
•    Semester-long academic stay to do a Final Project
•    Good academic performance record
•    Students interested in research and the possibility of pursuing a PhD in the USA.
•    English requirements: Intermediate English proficiency

University of Colorado (Boulder, USA) (Balsells Fellowship)
•    Bachelor and Master students
•    Semester-long academic stay to carry out a Final Project
•    Good academic performance record
•    Students interested in research and the possibility of pursuing a PhD in the USA.
•    English requirements: Intermediate English proficiency

University of California (Irvine, USA) (Balsells Fellowship)

•    Bachelor and Master students
•    Semester-long academic stay to do a Final Project
•    Good academic performance record
•    Students interested in research and the possibility of pursuing a PhD in the USA.
•    English requirements: TOEFL 80 or IELTS 7.0. Otherwise a Cambridge Score and an interview may be accepted.

École de technologie supérieure (Université du Québec, Canada)
•    Bachelor Degree and Master students
•    Year-long academic stay (Courses during Q1 + Courses/Final Project during Q2)
•    Good academic performance record
•    B2 French level

Instituto Politécnico Nacional (Mexico City, Mexico)
•    MIRI Master students of the following specialties: Advanced Computing, High Performance Computing and Computer Networks and Distributed Systems.
•    Before you go you have to pass 60 ECTS of specific courses agreed in the bilateral agreement.
•    2 semesters in the IPN (last year) (30 ECTS of courses+ 30 ECTS of TFM)
•    3 scholarships covering tuition fees during the stay in Mexico.
•    B2.1 or higher level of English.

You will have to send an e-mail to rel.int@fib.upc.edu before the 11th of January 2016. Put “USA-Canada-Mexico 2016/2017” in the Subject field. You must include:
•    A maximum of two universities, stating your order of preference
•    Motivation letter in English (USA) or French (Canada) or Spanish (Mexico)
•    Curriculum Vitae
•    Transcript of Records (in English)
•    Language certificate

To apply for an university in the USA that requires a TOEFL grade it is necessary to say whether the student has already passed the exam, and with which grade. You will be able to certify your TOEFL grade until the 18th of January.
