Degree in Informatics Engineering

Objectives

The aim of the Degree in Informatics Engineering is to give students a general grounding in informatics, examine all or most subjects inherent to the field in depth and train them to attain pass one of the areas of specialisation offered by the School.

The FIB currently offers the following areas of specialisation:

  • High-performance architectures and computing
  • Software engineering and information systems
  • Fundamentals of computing
  • Data management and operations
  • System interfaces and integration
  • Advanced programming techniques
  • Telematic networks and operating systems

Some of the optional subject requirements on the new curriculum are the same as those for the 1991 curriculum with regard to passing areas of specialisation.

Study load

The Degree in Informatics Engineering has a total of 375 credits, which are divided up as follows:

First cycle

  • 148.5 credits for first cycle compulsory subjects
  • 52.5 credits for optional subjects
  • 19.5 credits for free-elective subjects

Second cycle

  • 87 credits for second cycle compulsory subjects
  • 12 credits for optional subjects
  • 18 credits for free-elective subjects
  • 37.5 credits for the final project
