The objective of the Vulcanus Program is to make possible to the European college students the knowledge of the technologies outposts that use the Japanese companies, in addition to its sensibility on the Japanese culture and the knowledge of its language. After the conclusion of the stay, the student will count on greater labor opportunities to the salary been in contact with Japanese companies and companies.
The Vulcanus Program consists of the accomplishment of industrial practices in a city of Japan, that begin in the month of September and finalize in the month of August of the following year, to be able to continue studies according to the academic calendars of the European institutions. For it, the students make:
- A seminary of one week in Japan.
- An intensive course of Japanese of four months of duration.
- A period of practices of 8 months in a Japanese company.
Requirements
- To be citizen of the European Union.
- To be university student as of the third year.
- The students must be able to reside for a reason or purpose in Japan during a year with the agreement of their respective universities or of sabbatic year.
Financing
Vulcanus in Japan is financed by the Japanese company of welcome and the UE-Japan Center for the Industrial Cooperation. The students receive a scholarship of 15,000 euros for the roundtrip and the expenses of the cost of the life in Japan. They are lodged by the company that welcomes to them during the 12 months. The courses of languages and the seminary are in charge of the UE-Japan center for the Industrial Cooperation.
Criteria of selection
The applicants are selected on the basis of their academic file and to the opinion of their professors, to its knowledge of English spoken and written, to their motivation and its attitude as opposed to the UE-Japan relations and to its capacity of adaptation.
